Crown Reduction

Crown reduction, a common tree surgery practice, involves reducing the overall size of a tree's canopy, typically measured in metres. By removing sections of the crown both from the sides and top of the tree, this technique is used to maintain trees in confined spaces or to increase light and reduce encroachment on buildings or areas while preserving a natural shape and preventing overgrowth.

This meticulous process, akin to a more elaborate form of pruning, is executed with great care by our experienced team. We focus on removing dangerous deadwood and crossing branches to minimise the risk of disease while restoring the tree to a safe, balanced shape. Regardless of the tree's size, our skilled team ensures a safe and effective crown reduction, enhancing both the tree's health and the surrounding environment.

SJ Arborists also have equipment to accomodate crown reductions that may overhang highways or busy roads, so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

SJ Arborists undertake crown reduction services in Harrow, Buckinghamshire, Hillingdon, Hertfordshire, and Windsor and Maidenhead.
